The re-screening of this film this time is created to seek any sponsors and donors to support all activities of Khmer Film Fund and Kerdomnel Khmer Foundation, with their generous funds, for the mission to respectively conserve Cambodian culture and heritage and produce films.

This is the true story of Amara – part of her true life during Pol Pot’s regime. Now 68 years old, she does not enjoy the health as one would expect of her age, a legacy from the hardships she faced from 1975 to 1979.

This film documented the sadness of her life, especially the losses of her family in the genocide.

Fifteen days after evacuating from Phnom Penh, her father, General Prang, a former high-ranking cadre well-respected in the Lon Nol regime, was executed.

Her husband, Chak, an officer at a fortress near Kampong Chhnang province, has disappeared ever since.

Madam Amara is told that a villager in Kampong Chhnang province sees her husband and 30 other Lon Nol loyalists are escorted away by Khmer Rouge cadres on 20 April 1975, for execution. It is the very day at Khmer Rouge takes control of Phnom Penh.
