Speaking at a news conference on Khmer heritage, he said the foundation could host a 30-60 minute program on Television Kampuchea (TVK) if the radio program went smoothly.

“Although we are proud of Angkor Wat, the understanding of Khmer civilization remains low and is not comprehensive,” he said. “There are many mysteries we need to explore to discover our strengths and weaknesses.

“That’s why the Ministry of Information is trying to make Khmer heritage livelier and easier for our young people to research.”

Chen Chanratana, founding president of the foundation, said a meeting at Zaman University on July 7 would discuss new research into the archeology and history of Cambodia and Southeast Asia.

Twelve researchers from Cambodia, the United States, Australia, France, Italy, Singapore, and Thailand are expected to take part. The event will mark the fourth anniversary of the listing of Preah Vihear temple as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
