Description of Program

Kerdomnel Khmer works to bring people together to understand, be educated in and explore opportunities in archaeology and the arts in Cambodia and elsewhere.

1.Education:

Kerdomnel Khmer already operates an after-school volunteering program and runs an education program that offers opportunities to university students in the field of archaeology. The volunteering program offers research projects, and editing and research-based tasks to assist the volunteering students to develop academic skills. Our program teaches volunteers in areas that range from introductory courses to a research field to the completion of projects in those fields. Volunteering students gain valuable experience from real work experience while also being further educated.

2.Enterprise

The Kerdomnel Khmer magazine was founded by a group of young professional Archaeologists. It has already evolved into a forum for publishing research by professors, archaeologists, and students, and employing the skills of designers and web designer. A trial original-content issue has been produced and a web site has been created.  The Kerdomnel Khmer magazine group creates new project and research areas for researchers to explore, allowing archaeological students both inside and outside Cambodia to develop their research skills. They learn how to produce or edit articles for publication  in Kerdomnel Khmer magazine. Ten young archaeological students are currently volunteering with Kerdomnel Khmer magazine.

3.Access:

To ensure that everyone can access some of the Kerdomnel Khmer magazine articles, we have started our own website for Kerdomnel Khmer (www.kerdomnel-khmer.org or https://kerdomnelkhmer.wordpress.com). There some magazine articles can be accessed, people can engage in discussion and they can also propose new subjects for future issues. It is intended to make the website a key resource including reading guides, bibliographies, links and other sorts of reference materials for the relevant fields of interest.
